Will wonders never cease?

I think I am still in shock that my kids actually cooperated for their portraits! Here are a few other wonders that never cease.....

1. The simple and innocent beauty of my kids.
2. The power of chewy lifesavers (helps with the cooperation thingy).
3. The continual unpreparedness for the inevitable winter that relentlessly arrives year after year.
4. How quickly the year went by....is it seriously almost Christmas?
5. My dogs untiring commitment to rebel against obedience class.
6. The state of our economy and those affected by it.
7. How happy Christmas lights make everyone.
8. The magnetic forces that are linking my car to the Starbucks drive through daily.
9. The excitement and joy I get from capturing the perfect moment for my clients, for myself, for my family, for my friends. It makes me happy to see the moment in the lens and then remember to tell my finger to snap it!

These portraits are "proof" that my kids can actually be saints....well....some of the time...and...if I'm honest...under the influence of sugar.

Seriously, is there anything cuter??

I recently completed a photo session with my nieces and nephew and had so much fun! My sister is creating a beautiful wall display for her home along with a fireplace mantle display for her finished basement full of portraits of her children. I can't wait to see the finish product and will be sure to post pictures here. In the meantime, here are two of the images that will be in her collection. Isn't my niece soooo cute?

More Fall Fun!!

I had the opportunity to photograph these super sweet twin brothers! We hit the park and had a great time in the nice Fall weather we had this past weekend. Before the Fall is long gone, I hope to snag a few of my own family! I have a beautiful portrait wall collection that I update every Fall. The gorgeous colors and warm sweaters make for incredibel portraits.

Got a chance to get outdoors and snap a few of these handsome fellas! It is so great to get outside in the Fall to take colorful pictures in semi decent weather at parks, downtown areas, and even in your own yard.

Cute Brothers!

I had the opportunity to photograph these two adorable brothers! They were so sweet. We were hoping to get outside for a few outdoor shots and it rained the entire time! Going outside is a great way to add variety to your photo session. I like to snap a few in the yard and/or head off to the park. These little guys did great inside so no worries.

Here is a peek into what I have been up to lately. I just love photographing kids and babies and I have been lucky to shoot these cutie patooties!!

Love Your Family Out Loud

So, here I am on a Thursday night waxing philosophical when I should be working. I don't do this often, maybe I should do it more. Nonetheless, occassionally something touches me so profoundly that it doesn't just leave a mark it seems to change who I am just a little bit. I recently came across a video of a man by the name of Randy Pausch who is dying of pancreatic cancer. He gave a lecture entitled "The Last Lecture" which has now been seen by millions of people around the globe. An amazing lecture really.

The Last Lecture is a reminder that we really don't have long on this planet and some have much longer than others. This isn't news in and of itself, however, isn't it amazing that people don't really live their lives accordingly - especially knowing what we know. Another photographer friend of mine said "it really does make you want to love your family out loud." Those words rang true to me. I am going to really try to do exactly that. Why not one more hug and kiss, why not one more story, why not enthusiastically greet your kids the minute you see them as if they are exactly who you were hoping to see, why not listen intently to the rules of their make believe game and play it with zest, why not pay attention to everything you never wanted to know about bugs when your child is teaching you, why not treat your spouse the way you treat your closest and dearest friend, why not turn your cell phone off in the car, why not tell someone you love them even though they already know, and most importantly....why not ask yourself "why not?"

If your interested....you can visit http://www.thelastlecture.com/ to see for yourself what has greatly inspired me. Randy Pausch just released a book yesterday entitled, The Last Lecture.

And...I included just one fun picture for today...just because his cute little face makes me smile.

Now, back to work!

A Little Help From My Friends

I am completely excited because I was able to spend my Sunday with two very special photographer friends, both of which are Preggos! Thought I would share a few of the pictures I have completed so far. I want to give a special thank you to Gerri and Angela for allowing me to photograph them on Sunday. Their cute pregnant bellies brought back memories of how fun, beautiful and amazing preganancy can be!

Who knew Winter could be so Hot????

Spent some time fighting the Winter Blues by having some fun in the snow with my cool sister!! It takes a brave woman to take on a snowy day in the dead of winter in a formal gown. Winter Schminter.....
